Protect Yourself
From Excess Estrogens
#82

Excess estrogen in your body can cause a man to grow breasts, and a woman to grow tumors. Luckily, there is a safe and natural supplement that can protect you from these estrogens.

Excess estrogens cause:

• Feminization
• Weight (fat) gain
• Muscle loss
• Cancer
• Loss of sex drive
• Brittle bones
• Moodiness

Estrogens bombard your body everyday. You acquire excess estrogens through the foods you eat and the water you drink. In men, excess estrogens also form as the result of hormone imbalances common with aging. We have proven that estrogens make cancerous tumors grow.

* Another Benefit of Vegetables *

Many vegetables contain an added benefit: enhanced estrogen metabolism. Cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli contain DIM. Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a plant compound that enhances estrogen metabolism. DIM works because it's structure is similar to estrogen. This increases the breakdown of estrogen into safer compounds.

DIM is especially beneficial as we age. I often use DIM at our Center for Health and Wellness. I have found that it relieves the “grumpy old man” syndrome and menopause symptoms in my patients.

You can find out more about excess estrogens by checking out Health Alert 14 in the archive page of www.vitalmaxvitamins.com.

A good reader on DIM is also available. All About DIM by Dr. Michael Zeligs costs only a couple of dollars. You can find info on getting the book at www.penguinputnam.com or you favorite bookseller.

You can find DIM supplements at any health food store or on the Internet but don't forget about eating your veggies. Remember, vegetables have numerous other important nutrients.

I use DIM 100-200 mg daily for women. Men can take 200-400 mg of DIM daily. A couple DIM supplement tablets give you a benefit equivalent to a eating a pound of vegetables!
