Health Alert 127
In your last Health Alert you learned that the real culprit in prostatic enlargement (BPH) wasn’t testosterone but DHT. Today you’ll find that you’re not alone in your battle to keep your prostate healthy.
Recent discoveries prove that some of the best ways to treat BPH have been available for centuries. Amazingly without ever knowing DHT existed, early cultures knew how to turn their natural harvests into DHT blockers, and now you can too.
Forget about the days when you would stand in front of the toilet waiting for a urine stream. And you won’t have to worry about stopping at every rest-stop bathroom on road trips. Today, I’ll tell you about one of the most potent BPH treatments you use: beta-sitosterol.
* Natural Remedy Works Best *
It is my view that technology is proving that many natural traditional treatments shunned by modern medicine really did work. Now we can isolate the active ingredients in herbs and use them as more powerful medical treatments. And there is no better example than beta-sitosterol.
Beta sitosterol (SIT) is a sterol found in plants. It is a cousin to the healthy fats in meat. The native tribes living in Florida before European settlement recognized the benefit of plants containing beta-sitosterol.
Saw palmetto naturally grows in Florida. My home state provides 80% of the world’s Saw palmetto. Surprisingly, we use only a small percentage in the US. We export the vast majority to Europe and Asia. Saw palmetto contains SIT. It is one of its more powerful active ingredients. The Native Americans understood that they could treat prostate and urinary problems with saw palmetto. They used it medicinally for centuries.
Only within the past few decades did western cultures catch on. And with further study, we found that the SIT in saw palmetto treats the prostate.
Last time, I explained that a hormone called DHT causes prostate enlargement. An enzyme called 5-alpha reductase coverts sex hormones into DHT. SIT stops 5-alpha reductase from converting testosterone into DHT. And this is why it is a potent prostate treatment.
* The Only Way to Go *
I have had great success at treating my BPH patients with SIT. I have found it to be one of the most effective and trustworthy treatments for enlarged prostate. And pages and pages of clinical trials support my findings.
One of the best studies followed hundreds of men with BPH over 18 months. Half of the men took a placebo, and the other half took SIT. The men who took the beta-sitosterol supplement found that their symptoms of BPH significantly declined.
The men taking SIT experienced:
• Increased “quality of life”
• Better urinary flow rate
• Less urine left in the bladder after voiding
• Less frequent urge to urinate.1
You can take a pure SIT supplement. They are available in health food stores. For BPH I start men at 100mg per day. If you are older than 50, you might think about taking SIT, even if you don’t have any symptoms of BPH yet.
In your next letter, I’ll show you how to track your progress in the battle against BPH.
