Dear Subscriber:
So many of the guys who walk through the doors of my clinic tell me things like:
“Doctor Sears, I’m at the end of my rope. I’m tired, unfocused and frustrated with my life. I can’t seem to finish anything, even in the bedroom…”
I don’t blame them for thinking they’ve run out of options. By the time they come to me, they look hopeless and depressed.
Sexual performance drugs may help, but they do nothing for fatigue, depression or loss of desire. Antidepressants may help with the worst symptoms, but they have other side effects, including impotence.
Their doctors – not their bodies – have failed them. Most of them overlook the number one indicator of tiredness and bedroom trouble: Falling levels of testosterone.
From age 30 onward, your testosterone levels drop 1% to 3% every year. And a new study to be published in the November issue of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism found that 1 in 4 men over 30 have low testosterone levels.1
I think that’s a damn shame… These guys are losing their ambition, their energy and their ability to think clearly. And that confusion leads to the loss of every man’s most basic drive: To take action.
But the bad news doesn’t stop there: When your levels drop, your risk of heart disease skyrockets. And there’s more at stake than fatigue and a fading sex drive. You can expect sleep disturbances, brittle bones, loss of muscle and physical strength, even depression.
So what can you do about it?
You don’t need to take expensive drugs to boost testosterone levels. There are a variety of herbal remedies that will gently and naturally raise your testosterone levels and rev up your sex drive.
Here are a few I use with my patients
. They give you results you can actually feel. You can find most of them at your local health food store or online.Horny Goat Weed: This is an aphrodisiac first used in China over a thousand years ago. Interestingly, it improves blood flow by increasing levels of nitric oxide (NO), which is exactly how sexual performance drugs work. It also acts on the neurotransmitters in the brain that stimulate sexual response.
Tribulus Terrestris: Discovered by the ancient Greeks, this powerful herb boosts both libido and testosterone levels. Decades of clinical research have proven its effectiveness.2 It also increases muscle strength and acts as a powerful anti-oxidant.
Avena Sativa: This herb boosts “free” testosterone levels in your blood. Almost all of the testosterone in your body is “bound” to proteins. Only about 2% of testosterone is “bio-available.” It’s free testosterone that will really get you humming. And Avena Sativa gives you more of it.
While you may have heard of some of these herbs, here’s something you probably haven’t heard: These herbs work better when you “cycle” them.
This means you should take one herb for 4 to 6 weeks and then stop for a week. Then use a different herb for 4 to 6 weeks, stop, and repeat. I’ll be talking to you more about cycling and how to use it in the future.
