Dear Reader,
I’ve been telling you for years… serious weight lifting is a waste of your time. It’s unnatural and doesn’t help you build the kind of strength you really need.
Your ancient ancestors never “lifted weights” for the sake of pumping up their muscles. They developed a different kind of strength that kept them strong and fit far into old age.
I call this functional strength. The kind you use to climb stairs, mow the lawn or get your kids or grandkids into the car. But this kind of power doesn’t come from isolating a single muscle like many weightlifters do at the gym.
Functional strength comes from working a combination of muscle groups at the same time. If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that calisthenics are a great way to build functional strength.
Today, I’ll show you another easy way to build functional strength. It only takes 4 minutes, and it’s a great companion to my PACE® program. It’s called Quatro Fitness, developed by a friend of mine, Ryan Lee.
I met Ryan last year at a health conference and introduced him to my PACE® program. He soon saw the connection and told me about Quatro Fitness.
I’m always interested in new ideas, but very few fitness programs complement PACE®. In fact, most work against it.
But as I listened to Ryan, I realized I had a rare gem. Quatro Fitness is a great companion to my PACE® program. And it gives you easy access to the power of functional strength.
Two new ideas are the key:
The first is total kinesthetic recruitment. This means that each set of movements gives your entire body a challenge. Every muscle group from head to toe gets a work out.
The second is based on short bursts of high-intensity exertion
, the core of my PACE® program. It’s called, time separated training. This enables you to get a full workout in just 4 minutes.I was impressed… Ryan’s Quatro Fitness program sounded great. But did it work?
When I got home from the conference, I gave it a try had great results. I burned 6 pounds of fat and added 5 pounds of new muscle with Quatro Fitness. Not bad in just 2 weeks…
I can feel the difference too. My muscle tone and definition has improved and I feel stronger when I’m working in my garden on the weekends.
In fact, I like it so much I plan on doing some writing and research with Ryan in the future.
You should get a feel for Quatro Fitness yourself. You can find the Quatro Fitness program and other useful fitness advice on his website at www.quatrofitness.com.
