I Was In for a Surprise In Malaysia

Before I was asked to speak in Kuala Lumpur, I was kind of cloudy about Indonesia versus Malaysia, and how those regions are divided into countries and islands…

Malaysia has almost 30 million people. They discovered oil and they’re getting richer and more developed. And they’re reading my newsletter like I couldn’t believe. Almost everybody I ran into said, “Oh, I’ve been reading your newsletter.”

I was sitting at a table at the gala they had at the opening of the international anti-aging conference. We would have 10 people in a row come up to say hi – and they all said they were subscribers. Then they would tell me about what they had been reading in my letters and I was blown away.

But I was also in for a huge awakening. From my conversations with all these doctors from Malaysia, Indonesia, the far east… even Australia, I was surprised to learn that the rest of the world is realizing that they have a new, big problem. The same constellation of chronic diseases we have been dealing with in the U.S. for 50 years.

And in traveling all over the planet myself, I no longer think of these problems as unique to the West. I’ve now seen these problems worldwide.

And doctors in Malaysia felt it imperative to alert me what was going on there.

“You have no idea what’s going on here. In Malaysia, health is a mess. One out of three people is obese. The people who come in to my anti-aging center have such inflammation, and their diets are so bad and they have such misinformation that’s leading them the wrong way.”

They have this feeling that they’re going to hell in a hand basket because of their health. They’re getting all these chronic diseases, diabetes is exploding, and everywhere you look you see obesity.

Why did I make such a big splash in Malaysia?

Because I’m not afraid to say that, despite what the medical establishment tells you, adult diabetes is NOT a genetic disease without a cure requiring drug treatment for life.

I wasn’t afraid to tell them that you don’t have to rely on prescription drugs to prevent – or even reverse – diabetes. I’ve helped hundreds of my own patients completely reverse their diabetes naturally.

Today I’m going to show you exactly what I told the doctors and at the conference. That there’s a simple first step to treat diabetes safely, effectively, and naturally.

It doesn’t involve risky drugs, injections or any invasive modern medical procedures. It has to do with three simple things that get right to the root of the problem of diabetes, which no diabetes drug does.

You see, most diabetes drugs like Avandia regulate dangerous blood-sugar levels. But diabetes is not caused by high blood sugar. Diabetes is a problem of inadequate and unbalanced nutrition.

So rather than just "learning to live with it," I’m going to give you two powerful minerals and one potent antioxidant to help you turn the tables on this disease.

By taking a few simple steps, you can:

  • Return your blood sugar to healthy levels
  • Lower your blood pressure
  • Boost energy and lose weight
  • And so much more…

Beat The Real Cause of Diabetes…

Most people believe that diabetes is a problem of high blood sugar. High blood sugar is a symptom of the diabetes. But it’s not the root cause.

The major problem in adult diabetes is excess insulin. Insulin is the hormone that your body uses to move sugar from the blood into the cells where it’s burned for energy.

High-carb foods will spike your blood sugar. In response, your body will produce more insulin to move that sugar into your cells. But over time, the extra insulin makes your cell’s receptors less sensitive to insulin.

You then develop both elevated insulin and blood sugar levels, and your body compensates by producing more and more insulin… Your body becomes less sensitive to insulin-we call this condition insulin resistance.

Too much insulin in the blood:1

  • Converts excess glucose into fat stores causing you to gain weight.
  • Triggers the creation of triglycerides, a risk factor for heart disease.
  • Lowers HDL cholesterol levels increasing risk of heart disease and other diseases.
  • Impairs the body’s sodium balance, which raises blood pressure.
  • Damages the kidneys.
  • Damages the vascular system contributing to heart disease, retinopathy (eye damage), and neuropathy (nerve damage).

Big Pharma Puts You at Risk Again…

The medical industry’s response – to focus on lowering blood sugar-is appropriate for immediate care. But it ignores the cause – the insulin problem. Sometimes drugs make the cause worse by stimulating even more insulin production.

Hormones are powerful. When you have too much of any hormone, your body reacts by making your body less sensitive to it – as a way of protecting itself. But over time, your body will lose the ability to respond altogether.

Then along came Avandia, or rosiglitazone, which at first seemed to address this problem. The manufacturer marketed its ability to help sensitize the body to insulin and Big Pharma had a big hit. Avandia became another blockbuster, with total U.S. sales of $2.2 billion in 2006 as doctors and their patients rushed to embrace this latest treatment.

There’s just one fly in the soup. A new study in The New England Journal of Medicine found that Avandia could kill you.2

Pooled results of several studies on nearly 28,000 people revealed a 43 percent higher risk of heart attack for those taking Avandia compared to people taking other diabetes drugs or no diabetes medication.

Once again, Big Pharma put profits ahead of your well being. This time, however, the government and the medical establishment is taking notice. Several congressmen are finally calling for a complete overhaul of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s new drug approval process.

So what can you do to treat diabetes without exposing yourself to the dangers of the drug industry?

Take Control with 3 Simple and Safe Supplements

Here are my top three supplements for anyone with diabetes or at risk for diabetes:

Vanadium, a crucial trace mineral, mimics the action of insulin. This means it helps move glucose from the blood into the cells where it can be used as energy. It works by making cells more sensitive to insulin, which stimulates the movement of glucose into cells. It also inhibits the absorption of glucose from the gut, reducing damaging glucose and insulin spikes.3

In one study, people with diabetes took a vanadium supplement for three weeks. After just three weeks the average participant’s blood sugar levels dropped by 10%.

Chromium is another important mineral to help control and even reverse diabetes. In one study, participants took chromium picolinate and biotin for 30 days. All participants had diabetes. After 30 days, participants’ cholesterol had dropped an average of 19 points, with LDL cholesterol (the kind that can contribute to heart disease) dropping by more than 10 points. Even more important, the average fasting blood sugar level fell by 26 mg/dL.4

Lowering your fasting blood glucose level is the first step to preventing diabetes if you’re at risk. It’s also the key to controlling-and even reversing-diabetes.

Because high blood sugar and high insulin levels both damage your circulatory system and your nervous system, addressing these risks is an important part of treating diabetes.

Alpha lipoic acid plays a key role. ALA helps to control and prevent nerve and circulatory damage done by diabetes. In one study, people taking ALA showed improved blood pressure, reduced nerve damage, and better circulation.5

Use the easy chart below to guide you in making the best use of these three supplements (take all of these with meals):

500 mcg 3 times daily
(Do not take more than 10 mg in a day.)

Chromium with biotin

500 micrograms chromium 3 times daily
2 mg biotin daily

Alpha Lipoic Acid

100 mg twice daily

Chromium makes your cells more receptive to the action of insulin. ALA improves your body’s use of glucose. Vanadium mimics insulin, lowering your body’s overall need to produce insulin. Together, these three nutritional supplements give you a powerful support system to help permanently reverse diabetes and restore your good health.

Of course, curbing your carbohydrate intake and controlling the glycemic index of your carbs are important steps to reversing diabetes. You can get my Wellness Research Foundation’s Glycemic Index Guide by clicking HERE.
