If you’ve ever experienced a depressive episode, you know depression can make you feel like there’s no way out…
It’s no surprise up to 40% of people treated with depression drugs still suffer from symptoms.1 And most stop working effectively after a couple months, causing users to take more and more.
Patients come to me after being on these meds for decades, and I worry about the damage. These drugs accelerate brain shrinkage as you age.
Today, I’ll show you a safe, natural, and highly effective alternative for anxiety and depression.
Simple Vitamin Beats Prozac
Thiamine — or vitamin B1 — is surprisingly effective for anxiety and depression.
You might wonder if a simple B vitamin can really handle stress and depression. B vitamins are not glamorous.
But thiamine is often called the “anti-stress” vitamin. And low blood thiamine levels are linked with generalized anxiety disorder. But like many nutrients, absorption of this vitamin decreases with age.
In one study, researchers followed 200 patients with anxiety disorders. They found that treating them with 250 mg a day led to clinical improvement in 73% of patients.2
The best food sources of B1 are organ meats, peas, pork, beans and sunflower seeds. While 100 mg will prevent deficiency, I suggest supplementing with 200 mg to 250 mg daily if you’re feeling anxious.
