The Link Between Fibromyalgia and Nutrition

My patient Betti L. is proof of the healing power of primal nutrition… Let me tell you her story.

Betti had been suffering from fibromyalgia for more than a decade. If you’re not familiar with this disorder, you’re not alone. At least 10 million Americans are undiagnosed.

And because this chronic disease is so hard to pin down, it’s often ignored by mainstream medicine.

Leaving patients to suffer from severe body pain accompanied by extreme fatigue, depression, digestive problems, sleep problems, and memory loss.

Traditional doctors prescribe antidepressants, painkillers, muscle relaxants, and sleeping aids – then send you on your way.

That’s what happened with Betti. But, I told her that taking drugs was not the answer. And that she didn’t have to live with the pain and other symptoms.

Most doctors still don’t understand the connection between fibromyalgia and oxidative damage caused by free radicals.

In the 30 years since I started practicing medicine, I’ve seen the skyrocketing damage caused by too many free radicals.

In a pristine world, our bodies would always be in balance…

But in the nutritionally bankrupt world, we live in today, free radicals have gotten out of control.

Taking steps to fight free radicals with antioxidants is the best way to protect your cells from this damage.

But unless you live in a bubble, it’s almost impossible to do that.

And it’s not just fibromyalgia that results from our nutrient deficits…

All kinds of illnesses are linked to free radical damage – including diabetes, heart disease, cancer, inflammatory joint disease, macular degeneration, and dementia.

At the Sears Institute for Anti-Aging Medicine, I test my patients’ free radicals levels with a simple urine test that takes less than 10 minutes to do. The results let me know immediately what antioxidants my patients need.

I immediately started Betti on intravenous (IV) nutrient therapy.

I use IV therapy with many patients at my clinic. By infusing highly concentrated amounts of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly into their bloodstream and addressing the imbalances, I flush their system with healing nutrients.

It’s a highly effective treatment for many deadly diseases, including fibromyalgia.

One of the IV solutions we use to treat patients is the Myers Cocktail. It’s a mix of magnesium, calcium, vitamin C, and a B-vitamin complex that is specially designed to boost immunity, restore energy – and replace the nutrients that have been stripped from today’s foods.

I see ads popping up all the time lately for Myers’ cocktails. Businesses from beauty salons and gyms to wellness spas are offering this cocktail.

But, what makes the IV nutrient therapy we do at the Sears Institute unique is that we customize it to each patient’s unique nutritional needs.

That’s what we did for Betti. Here’s what she wrote to me a couple of weeks later…

“After receiving my IV infusions, my fibromyalgia pain and joint stiffness have decreased, and my energy has increased.

“And for the first time in years, I was out mowing our lawn! My husband could not believe it.”

A few weeks later, I heard from Betti’s husband John. He told me that since starting her treatment, Betti was without pain for the first time in over 10 years.

Then he told me something I love hearing from all my patients…

“My wife is off all her medications!”

If you’re ready to see the same results Betti did with your personalized nutrient IV therapy, please call my clinic at 561-784-7852. My staff is happy to answer any questions you have.

3 Steps To Fight Free Radical Damage

In the meantime, here are a few simple ways you can boost your antioxidant levels and reduce free radicals easily at home.

    1. Eat more of these foods: Foods with the most antioxidant nutrients include wild blueberries, red kidney beans (dried), cranberries, artichokes, blackberries, prunes, raspberries, strawberries, apples, and sweet cherries. I recommend buying your produce from local farms. It’s better than organic because it’s more nutritious – and tastes better. If you can’t visit a local farm, then I suggest buying organic.
    2. Stop eating junk food. Avoid high glycemic foods, as well as foods rich in carbohydrates. They are more likely to generate free radicals.
    3. Avoid these oils. Vegetable oils like canola, soybean, peanut, and safflower oils. They have a high oxidation rate that encourages free radical production.
    4. Limit alcohol consumption. Alcohol produces free radicals in your body. Stick to two drinks a day. Or, have a cup of green tea instead. The polyphenols in green tea combat oxidation.
