Are you all ready for Christmas tomorrow? Are you relaxing and doing things you enjoy with friends and family? I hope it’s as fun a time for you as it is for me.
Christmas is a time for family and being grateful, and to reflect on what it is that we feel grateful for.
While I am getting packed for Africa, I’m feeling very grateful for the opportunity I have to be involved with the children and families that we support through the KIMBRA foundation.
So I wanted to write to you to let you know that I’ll be keeping you updated with photos and stories so you can see the success these children are having, and what everyone’s generous participation means to these children.
We founded KIMBRA two years ago with private money, but in 2014 we were able to open it up to public funding. We were very grateful to everyone who poured their hearts into KIMBRA and made a donation.
KIMBRA’s original purpose was to help the very poor orphaned children to be able to have an education. We are very happy to be able to step in where we are needed. As you know, Barbara’s full time job is charity work ever since she became Miss Uganda.
These special children are so appreciative and happy for their continued health and education that your gracious generosity has provided them…
Through her work, she’s experienced the worst circumstances very young children go through when they have lost both parents to war and disease.
The children are left alone with no access to healthcare or education.
KIMBRA takes great pride in supporting and funding both a school health clinic and the New African Child primary school.
The clinic helps the children, but also serves a greater purpose. You see, the school is in the middle of Kampala Uganda. Often, the friends and families need just as much care as the children. The clinic is sometimes overwhelmed by the needs of the community. That’s why we are so thankful for everyone who gave even a small amount. It all helps.
KIMBRA had recently supported over a dozen children, and the numbers are growing. Hopefully, we can help them all grow up healthy and educated. In all, KIMBRA takes care of 300 children at the school clinic, who can now get care 7 days a week, thanks to your generous support.
Barbara and I are most excited about spending more time at the New African Child School and the wellness clinic there.
