CoQ10

Dear Member,

A wealth of new research is revealing remarkable new benefits for what I already considered a “miracle nutrient.” CoQ10 is now one of the most-studied nutrients.

Scientists from around the world are adding new findings to what we already know. Some of the new benefits include:

•Preventing skin cancer and photoaging.1

•Guarding against prostate and breast cancer.2

•Supporting healthy blood sugar levels in diabetics.3

•Avoiding endothelial dysfunction and vascular disease.4

•Slowing the progression of Parkinson’s disease.5

Coenzyme Q10 or CoQ10 is essential to life. You can’t live without CoQ10 because all of your major organs need it to function normally. Here are some of its “traditional” uses:

•Protects and strengthens the heart, protects the brain, and revitalizes the immune system. More than 100 studies at major universities and hospitals link CoQ10 deficiency with heart disease. In a landmark study, researchers measured the levels of CoQ10 in heart tissue biopsies. And they found low levels of CoQ10 in 50 to 75 percent of patients with various types of heart disease.6

•Additional studies show taking CoQ10 revitalizes heart function and can dramatically relieve heart disease symptoms.

•Helps the body neutralize free radicals in cells. Free radical damage contributes to a range of diseases and medical problems, including heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and other age-related problems. CoQ10 appears to protect the cells by cleaning up these free radicals before they can cause damage.

•Prevents migraines. A Swiss study on migraine patients reveals that CoQ10 cuts migraine frequency and duration in half.7

The list goes on and on… But you won’t hear about them from a conventional doctor. Especially a cardiologist.

Cholesterol-lowering statin drugs block the production of CoQ10 in the body. In fact, studies found that statin drugs lower CoQ10 levels by as much as 40 percent.8

Drug companies know

about this dangerous side effect. Yet unfortunately, most doctors don’t know enough about the link between statin drugs and CoQ10 to recommend supplements to their patients. Some misinformed doctors even discourage the use of CoQ10.

Regardless of whether you take statin drugs, have your CoQ10 tested.

Replenishing your body’s stores of this vital nutrient may be all you ever need to prevent or reverse a host of chronic diseases. You’ll also experience many other far-reaching benefits.

And remember… CoQ10 is fat-soluble. You should start a dose of 100-mg with some kind of fat. A good choice is a tablespoon of cod liver oil.

To Your Good Health,

Al Sears, MD
